Farm Secures £120,000 Funding Facility Ahead of Harvest Season

Harvest remains one of the most important periods in the farming calendar, with preparation and reliability playing a major role in a successful season.

For one family-run arable farm in Norfolk, reviewing equipment ahead of harvest highlighted the need for investment.

The farm operated across a significant acreage and relied heavily on machinery performance during a relatively short working window.

Although existing equipment had supported the business for several years, increasing maintenance requirements and concerns around reliability meant the family needed to consider replacement options.

With harvest approaching, timing was critical.

The business identified suitable replacement machinery that would improve capacity, efficiency and reduce the risk of downtime during peak operations.

Alchemy Business Finance reviewed the requirement and provided a £120,000 funding facility, allowing the investment to be completed ahead of the season.

Dean Pollen, Managing Director of Alchemy Business Finance Ltd, commented:

“Harvest highlights exactly why timing matters so much in agriculture.

A machine being unavailable at the wrong moment can have a major impact. Farmers work around weather, crop conditions and narrow operating windows, so preparation is essential.

Understanding those pressures is key when supporting agricultural businesses.”

The investment allowed the farm to enter harvest with confidence and focus on making the most of the season.
