The future of British farming depends on the next generation having the confidence and opportunity to continue developing agricultural businesses.
For one young farmer in Northumberland, taking a greater role within the family business brought both responsibility and opportunity.
The mixed farming operation had been built over several generations, with the family continually adapting as agriculture changed.
As part of future planning, the next generation wanted to improve efficiency and modernise areas of the business while maintaining the values and experience built up over many years.
The investment focused on upgrading essential equipment that would improve productivity and support the farm’s future plans.
After taking time to understand both the existing operation and the long-term goals of the family, Alchemy Business Finance provided an £85,000 funding facility.
Dean Pollen, Managing Director of Alchemy Business Finance Ltd, said:
“Succession is one of the biggest conversations taking place in agriculture.
The next generation of farmers bring new ideas and ambition, but they also carry the responsibility of protecting businesses that families have built over many years.
Supporting that transition is incredibly important for the future of the industry.”
The investment allowed the family to continue developing the business while preparing for the years ahead.
