Alchemy Business Finance has stepped in to support a mixed farmer near Norwich with a six-figure funding package after other lenders declined to help.
The deal—worth just over £100,000—enabled the farmer to purchase a new forage harvester at short notice, ensuring their business could keep pace with the demands of the harvest season.
While many funders were unwilling to move quickly on the transaction, Alchemy tailored an asset finance solution designed to meet the farmer’s immediate needs. The agreement was turned around rapidly, allowing the client to take delivery of the machinery in time for critical seasonal work.
George Bridgman, Senior Credit Manager of Alchemy Business Finance, commented:
“Too often we see good farmers being turned away because they don’t tick every box for traditional lenders. In this case, time was of the essence. By focusing on the value of the equipment and the realities of farm cashflow, we were able to provide a fast, pragmatic solution that got the deal done.”
This latest transaction underlines Alchemy’s commitment to providing flexible, responsive finance solutions for UK agriculture, particularly at a time when rising costs and unpredictable weather are placing fresh pressure on farm businesses.
For brokers, the deal also highlights the opportunity in working with specialist lenders who understand the seasonality and urgency of farming operations—and who can move quickly when others hesitate.
