Unlocking Value: £185,000 Released from Existing Assets in Devon

Many farming businesses are asset-rich—but that strength isn’t always reflected in available cash.

We recently worked with a family-run farm in Devon facing a familiar challenge. The business had built up a strong base of machinery over time, all owned outright and central to its operation. At the same time, it needed to release capital to support ongoing improvements and strengthen overall cashflow.

The difficulty was not a lack of value—it was access to it.

The client didn’t want to sell assets or disrupt the business, and traditional funding routes didn’t align particularly well with the structure of the operation. What they needed was a way to unlock the capital already sitting within the business, without changing how it functioned day-to-day.

A £185,000 sale and leaseback facility was structured across multiple pieces of equipment, allowing the client to release funds while continuing to use the machinery as normal.

This provided immediate liquidity, which was then reinvested back into the business—supporting infrastructure improvements and creating greater financial flexibility.

Importantly, the solution worked with the business, not against it.

Rather than introducing complexity, it allowed the client to use what they already had to move forward. In many cases, this kind of approach offers a more practical and sustainable route to funding—particularly in sectors where value is often tied up in physical assets.” Said Dean Pollen Managing Director
